Oratory, speaking, writing and reading comprehension are primary working skills of a lawyer. The ability to research information, organize it coherently and present a written or spoken summary of the law is essential to the practice.

It would depend on the type of lawyer you plan on becoming. However I would say that the better your vocabulary, the better the lawyer you would appear to be.
