This has been going on most of my life. I was a sick child with asthma and a ton of allergies. those finally went away but now I experience things like getting dizzy when I stand up, sometimes extreme weakness (where I just have to lay down and my limbs feel heavy, I almost can't move), just being slow in general, sorta cold extremeties, low motivation for anything.

So the docs thought it was hypothyroidism at first... didn't help. I've tried supplements like B vitamins, Wheatgrass, goji juice, eating a mostly veggie diet etc etc. I may have seen a bit of improvement, but I'm no where near normal. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

i think you may have answered your own question, you may be anemic. if not you should ask your doctor about low blood pressure. it kind of sounds like your blood may not be flowing right to your whole body.

i also suggest asking about sickle-cell anemia/ disease:

Symptoms
Painful events (crises) in the hands or feet, abdomen, back, or chest are the most common symptom of sickle cell disease . This pain may last from hours to days. Most people with sickle cell disease experience anemia . Symptoms of anemia include feeling weak and tired. People with sickle cell disease can appear pale or washed out, or have a yellowish look to their skin and the whites of their eyes ( jaundice ).

When a child is born with sickle cell disease, it isn't possible to predict which symptoms will appear, when they will start, or how severe they will be. Most symptoms of sickle cell disease are related to either long-term (chronic) anemia or blood vessels blocked by sickled cells.

Symptoms related to chronic anemia

Most people who have sickle cell disease have at least mild symptoms of chronic anemia, which may include:

Weakness.
Tiredness (fatigue).
Pale appearance.
Yellowing of the skin and the whites of the eyes (jaundice).
Shortness of breath, especially when they are active.
Research suggests that infants younger than 2 who have severe anemia, hand-foot syndrome , or both may be more likely to have severe sickle cell disease throughout life. 1 Severe anemia may also raise the chance of a person with sickle cell disease getting high blood pressure in the lungs ( pulmonary hypertension ), and this can be deadly. 2

Symptoms caused by blocked blood vessels

Pain symptoms caused by blocked blood vessels in bones, organs, and other tissues include hours to days of extreme pain ( painful events ). These painful events account for more than 90% of hospital admissions of adults with sickle cell disease. 3 Some people rarely have a painful event, while others have them often; three or more per year is considered severe.

Children between the ages of 6 months and 4 years may have episodes of extreme pain in the hands, the feet, or both (hand-foot syndrome).

Since nobody else covered this, I'll toss it in.

The supplements you mention you're taking are very good for cleansing your system and the B vitamins are good for energy among other things... it's not surprising you've seen some benefit, but simple cleansers seldom cure an ailment (especially one as seemingly complex as what you have).

You may want to consider going to a naturalpathic, homeopathic, or holistic doctor and see if they may be able to tell you more about what you have... it's possible it's a combination of a few things. It's also possible it's just a simple circulation problem.... but it's really hard to tell without more info and/or doing some tests. Good luck!

well i was anemic for the longest time and felt exhausted just getting up to take a shower. i have another illness but i am receiving vitamin iv treatments from an alternative doctor who is a cerified D.O. she also asked me to juice veggies and fruits 2x a day about 8 oz and this has helped drastically with my anemia. i feel awesome and more energized. now the juices aren't the best tasting but they help. i add an apple or pear to them to make them taste sweet. juice man juicers have a book that comes with them that has several recipes.

i also suffer from Raynard's phenomenon (very cold hands and feet) it could be a circulation issue.

i wish you all the best!

In Chinese medicine, this is spleen yin deficiency. I would suggest you go to see a Licensed Acupuncturist & take herbs. My health got much much better & back to my normal life after few visit. before that, I've got Lung issue , dizzy, exhausted. can't do anything, not even move. I'm in Acup school now, so i know more about that. For health with no side effect!

Hi Diego. Have you been tested for Celiac disease? This could cause all of your symptoms.

Celiac Disease (CD) is an autoimmune disease that damages the lining of the small intestine and leads to malabsorption of nutrients (vitamins, minerals, amino acids, essential fats, etc.). At the same time it causes 'intestinal hyperpermeability' that allows absorption into the blood of large molecules that can cause multiple allergy problems.

CD is caused by an allergic reaction to the proteins in wheat, rye and barley called glutens/gliadins. CD is VERY common, occurring in one person in every one hundred. However, it is RARELY diagnosed by medical doctors (about 3% of people with celiac disease actually get properly diagnosed in the U.S.). This severe failure to diagnose this common and devestating condition may be a product of the severely inadquate training in nutrition that is still the norm in medical education.

Treatment consists of avoiding all sources of gluten/gliadins in the diet.

You may want to ask your doctor for a referral to a specialist in Celiac Disease for a thorough evaluation. Only a specialist has the knowledge to properly test you (again, most M.D.s - including gastroenterologists - are clueless about this condition).

Best wishes and good luck.

It surely seems like you are taking way too much vitamin B. your weakness symptoms are indicative of that. cut off all the supplemental stuff you take in. cut off all the vitamins and stuff. You need some meat as well. it seems like your protein intake is low. have some eggs as well. an order of french fries once in a while won't hurt you. have a good hearty steak or a philly cheese steake sandwitch. no coffee or sodas. Cut down on your sugars (mostly hidden sugars in sodas). do this for a few weeks and you will see difference.
oh, start doing some aerobic workout too.

Diego, I totally understand... get your self to this web site beeroyalproducts.com and start taking their fresh royal jelly and bee pollen daily you will feel incredibly energized and I promise all those symptoms will disappear. Also try their royal energy tea it will give you a definite zap. It worked wonders for me and I have Lyme disease and suffer from the same symptoms.
