I started smoking when I was 9 years old due to peer pressure, then when I moved from primary school to secondary school I tried to quit, but by mixing with the wrong crowd started again (basically I was bullied it was a case of smoke or you'll get beaten up), and then I left school got a job etc etc and to cut a long story short (oops too late) I eventually gave up 10 years ago, 16 years after I first started! It wasn't easy but I feel better for it.

I'm 32 and have never even tried a puff. My mother used to smoke around me all the time an that's what convinced me never to try.

No. Quit over two years ago and have had absolutely no problems whatsoever. Got to admit, I feel better but have put on about two stones in weight cos I've been eating sweeties! Trying to stop that at present!

yeah, unfortunately, I do. I wish I'd never started. Now, going on 47 yrs. of smoking, I try hard to quit, but can't. it's worse since I started smoking menthols about 20 yrs ago. my daughter is a nurse and she's on me all the time, and she lives in my house; so I restrict my smoking to only my bedroom. just wish I'd never started.

I quit 4 months ago. Feel much better. I don't ever want to smoke again. LIE!
TRUTH: I quit 4 monts ago. I've had about 46 colds since quitting. I could go for a whole week and suddenly desperately urgenty madly want to smoke. And I feel better for this? How, exactly?
EDIT: Okay, okay, I'm sorry - no need to give me 2 thumbs down. I quit smoking, I'm very proud of myself and yes I'm glad I did it, but no one warned me I'd catch every cold going and sometimes it's a little soul destroying, but really - I'M PROUD TO BE A NON-SMOKER. There, happy now? Thumbs up in order?

Yes I smoke.
I congratulate anyone who gives up smoking and admire them for doing so but I choose to smoke. I'll stop when I WANT to not when someone tells me too.

Tried smoking just to look cool, didn't really like it as i felt sick at the time.Never took it up.
I don't like the smell of smoke on clothes or others breathe, really turns me off.
Glad you feel great after giving up smoking.
