A 19 on the ACT is pretty low, and I'm assuming, based on your explanation, that the 1330 is out of 2400, not 1600? If so, that, too, is quite low. I hope you are getting help for the things that are bothering you, because this does limit your options. I would go ahead and apply to BGSU, because you never know - sometimes you can get in when you didn't think you would have a chance. But I would come up with some options. One possibility, if you are really set on BGSU, is to start out at a community college and transfer after two years. I don't know enough about you to know which colleges may take you, but you might want to go onto www.collegeboard.com, and look at their "college matchmaker" (on the lefthand side of the home page). They ask you a lot of questions about what you are looking for, and make suggestions of colleges which you have a decent chance of getting into. Then you can go onto those college's websites to see which ones appeal to you. Good luck!

Your GPA, ACT, and SAT scores are below average for BGSU. An ACT score of 19 is slightly below average with 60% of test takers performing better than you.

Due to your ACT score and GPA, I'm assuming that you mean a 1330 out of 2400 on the SAT. In that case, a 1330 on the SAT is around 30th percentile meaning 70% of the test takers did better.

Obviously, your GPA and standardized tests are sub-par for the college you selected. BGSU has an average ACT of 21 (56th percentile), SATs at about 1550, and an average GPA at around 3.2. This does not mean that you cannot get in as extracurriculars and essays will count for something as well. If you have substantial talent at violin, that would sure confer some advantage. Why not go ahead and apply?

If all goes wrong, I suggest going to community college for a year or two and work on improving your grades. Then, try and transfer to another college.

your gpa is low. but different schools have different grading. and a 1330 on the SAT? did that include the writing. most schools dont grade the writing section. so you would of beaten me on the SAT. and do you know about collegeboard.com? go there and look up your college in the student section and it'll give you more information about the requirments of the school you're looking at. and believe me i kno about going through stuff and it effect your grades. just b possitive and dont think its the end.

Your SAT score is very respectable. Don't even tell a college that you took the ACT . . . .

Are you going into Senior year? You have a chance to improve things. If you don't get accepted where you want, go to community college for a year, get GREAT grades and reapply. High School grades barely count once you have college credits.

I did well in high school, but I got a 1050 on the SAT (I only took it once). I still got into RIT though.

The fact is, you won't know until you apply. So do it!
