"Why are old people so grumpy?"

For your information, I'm in college as well so HAHA! I'm immature too, but not to an extreme.

I liked what everyone had to say except for randomstranger's because why did he automatically assume that just because I'm talking bad about college folks, doesn't mean I'm old and senile!! That's funny! LOl.

Randomstranger got a thumbs up? that's rather strange! And the person who did it is immature too! Why would they thumbs down someone who's completely wrong about me?

One example is my college neighbors who are always having parties and banging on the wall and talking and laughing. We live in attatched town houses.

And last time I checked, 23 isn't old! my mom has a heart problem and I might too. I am the minority where I live. so maybe it's not just old people that are grumpy, it's just that life has so many you know, problems!

why are women female? why are guys male? why is the sky blue? why do mammals have hair and why do fish swim?

basically, college kids (most of them, not all) are immature because it's coded in their genes to be so! just as it's coded in your genes to be a female. now, you can try to act against your feminenity by being manly but you're still female...

just as many people can act mature in many situations even if deep down inside they know they're immature in spirit.

Women are female because they have a vagina. Guys are male because they have *****. Which you are! Just kidding! Mammals have hair for protection usually and fish swim because they can breathe in the water and live their, just like we can. We can't breathe under water but we can certainly swim!

I don't agree or see with your point of because it's natural for people to be immature( if you're calling me immature, I don't agree and I hope you're not because there's no proof of it. Sensitive maybe, but yes, I'm human and...

"Who the hell gave me a thumbs down?"

I did because i didn't agre with it! I need to be shot? LOL! For giving you a thumbs down? Oh please grow up!

2007-07-22 12:43:39 · update #7

And college kids shouldn't be immature because they are in COLLEGE already! GEEZ!! How hard is it to be mature?

If people view my comments as immature then so be it, but you know that they're true!

and so it's not nature to have immature collge kids like that last answer said.

Some college students are still immature because they are young and haven't had to take any responsibility for anything. I think you would find the same level of immaturity among people in that age group who were in the business world or in the military, but somehow that is considered more acceptable. I think the expectations of students are just higher.

I also think that the "Animal House" pictures which the media love to show are very unrepresentative of most students' college lives. Yes, they go to parties (so do others), but most just don't have time for much of this in between studying, work, and other activities.

UPDATE: Well since you gave me a thumbs down, then you don't understand my statement. Immaturity is a biological response to the physical world, whether in thought or in reality. Our bodies have a fairly persistent stimulation in our limbic system which controls all of our emotions, in turn, producing emotions that usually make us act in immature ways, sometimes not always on purpose, but only to impress others or to be funny, or plainly, for being stupid. Moreover, in any case, people will be immature because we are very domineering creatures who want the world to revolve around us. we want everyone to want to be us, and therefore, immaturity gives us that sense that we can do what we want because it's all about us. And obviously, the college years is the pinnacle of fitting in and being impressionable, so young adults continue to be immature.

HAPPY NOW?

Many of them are still just a little ways out of high school, and think they actually know something about life, for some odd reason. It's really the last time in your life you have to be immature and get away with it, so take and enjoy the opportunity. It goes by mighty quick. . . .

The "old lady", undoubtedly a capricorn or virgo--or a bit of both, is boring but correct. Nevertheless, maturity, so called sets in late for most males, if ever, but somewhat earlier for females, based on my experience.

But expecting "maturity" at 20, is a lost cause, especially in a culture as clueless and narcissistic as ours, eh? :))

College kids, usually aged 18-22 are still like kids. Boys, in particular, get mature much much later than girls. In other words, girls grew up and be mature much faster and sooner than boys. So in college, the boys are like kids who is allowed to leave home far for the first time, and so they act immature.

They haven't lost the high school mentality yet. Still hang in cliques, think they should be catered to, and haven't a clue as to what real life is about. Some people never grow out of it.

Your question should have read: 'Why are some college people still immature', because not all college people are immature. Only some.
