This happened to me also. No matter how careful my husband and I were, ours kept coming loose. I did the same thing as you; kept buying new seats. Finally when I had a plummer in the house for something else I asked him about it and he looked at the seat and took it off. Seems that when the holes were drilled in the back of the toilet they were not in the center which shifted the toilet seat every time we sat down. He told me the only way to fix it is to change the toilet. He told me we could try using a wood toilet seat ( We were using a soft padded one ) and to get one that was priced somewhere in the middle; not the cheapest but not the most expensive. We did that and have been really careful and we havent had a problem since . I feel your frustration. I hope this helps you.

Ok i am gonna resist the urge to make a joke about your toilet seat, and instead try to help you.
Buy a good quality toilet seat and try using lock tite on the screws to hold them in place.
Good luck and have a nice weekend.

Buy a better seat with a different arrangement of securing to the bowl. Avoid wooden ones as they are the ones most prone to this type of mishap..
The ones i am thinking of have solid screwed nylon bolts and large plastic nuts which are concealed by a flap. The name I think of is something like beamus, bemis.

Avoid getting one with plastic hinges, they only clamp 1 inch on the inside of the hinge. If you rock back and forth on the seat,it'll break every time.

You could fit one of these special kits - it is designed to stop exactly the sliding that you mention and it works well
