i thought http://www.rent.com was a good site for finding a roommate and they have a lot of people from a variety of areas.
try the housing section of craigslist http://lexington.craigslist.org/ i generally find lots of helpful stuff on here and more recent too than rent.com
another possiblilty would be http://www.roommates.com but i do not recall finding the site to be particularly useful. do a google search http://www.google.com/search?client=safari&rls=en&q=find+a+roommate+lexington,+ky&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8

With UK in the area, you might consider all the bulletin boards on or near campus. Be sure to mention requirements (age range, sex, price range, area, etc).
