I have watched the news for today for about thirty minuets and so far, I have seen A pro football player who allegedly purchased a home to have illegal dog fights at, and bet on them... So cruel if this is true... But by far not the worst...
Next I saw a mom and dad who starved their two children while they played video games, and they said they evently learned they could eat them selves... OM! So sad..
But then an insane woman who says she was taking her tiny baby to Satan? They found the baby in the middle of the road... What the heck...
And some wonder why so many people are depressed .... What the heck is wrong with people? A pro foot ball player with tons of money... Doing this? And then you know the other two I mentioned had these children... My heart goes out to those children...

I am greatful to the man up stairs, that I am not numb... I can only imagine what God feels... The scriptures say when somone hurts one of his people it is as though they are touching his eyeball... That speaks volumes about what a loving creator God is... Sorry, for those who don't believe in God, but this requires the hope God can only give...

Dan S, I agree with so much of what you said, but clearly not everyone who has faith is demented...
Satan is the cause not the Almighty...

Katyana, I don't like seeing or hearing bad news either, but I don't like to turn a deaf ear and play like I live in a fairy tale either... Not saying that you do, but news is important to hear...

Dan S, I also don't think it was that she was caring for her baby... Although I will never know... Who would want to hand over anyone let alone their child into the hands of his?

The failing is human greed and carring more about themselves than others.

A lot of our current parents are underqualifed because they are a result of the "Me Generation" a time when it was cool to care more about yourself than others. If you continue that when you have a family then the result is child neglect.

The football player who ran the dog fights has little care about how wrong it is, how cruel it is, the fact that it is illegal, and what the public knowledge of that will do to his career. All he cared about was that it was fun and he could get the thrill right then and when he wanted. That was more important than the other considerations, if he even went as far as to think it through.

The woman how gave her baby to Satan was insane, and insane has no reason. A lot of insane people are attracted to religion to try and find an answer. It isn't the fault of religion, because they deal with the unanswerable questions. It is the fault of the insane. I can't make a judgment how she got that way, it could have been depression after the birth or a deep rooted psychos. Regardless of what the cause you can't expect rational actions from an insane person. So I am throwing out this example.

That leaves two examples of people who cared more about the thrill they could get in the next minute then the consequences of that thrill. This is a lot of what the "Me Generation" was about. Not all of them are damaged in this way, but it was more acceptable to have that selfish attitude so some people exercised it and passed it on to their children.

Think about the two children who could have starved to death, do you think they will make good parents? If they are taken from the home and put into a good environment then there is a chance, but left in the same home it is almost certain that if they every become parents they will become poor ones because of the example set by their parents.

My heart goes out to all these people, and to the dogs that had to fight and try and kill each other. But, it hardens when I see the reason behind what happened; people who care more for the thrill of the moment than the consequences of their actions or what is going on around them. The insane woman gets my pity, and her baby does as well. At least her mother was trying to do something to help the child, it was demented and insane, and the result of damaged thinking, but the mother is the only one who cared for someone else.

Maybe if you stopped believing in man-made myths like God and Satan, you would realize that the actions you are speaking of, can be sometimes be explained clinically. Vick is just ignorant and still has a projects mentality.

I think this says more about the medium of news broadcasting than about people. Why they think stuff is newsworthy is beyond me.
