What's your view?
Also... if you were interested in someone and found out that they had had sex with a prostitute, would you be reluctant to continue with them?

I ask this question as my boyfriends friend (who happens to be one of my friends ex boyfriends, and is only 18) has started working on a cruise liner and slept with a prostitute on a stop in thailand.
I was disgusted at this and told my bf that it would be hard for his friend to find someone who would want to be with him after his actions.
He didn't think that this would be the case..but now i have proof!!! xxxxx

I wouldn't make it an automatic rule out. To some degree, it might depend on the situation. When did this happen (while we were together?). Heck, if he is over seas or on some trip/vacation when it happened I could live with that. Was a condom used? Is this a habit? Does he have a sex addiction? Was this an "escort" or a street prostitute? Why did you choose to do this? I think more men then we even know about have been with a prostitute, escort, whatever. I would also weigh their personality, how much I liked them, whether I can see a future or not? How does he treat me? If it's really love, then barring any STD's I could forgive it. I would request he get screened for any STD's before we became intimate (see it in writing or the doc's report. I have a friend who's charming man lied to her, and now she has A very bad STD that may cost her her uterus. After years of being so careful and not promiscuous at all). A lot of people experiment when they are young and do all sorts of things that what probably shock us off of our chairs.

I'd be very leery and reluctant. Prostitutes are promiscuous, and with the high epidemic of Aids...it's something to think about before climbing in the sheets with them. They would have to pass an Aids test before I got involved with them. I'm aware that the virus doesn't show up right away..it's a very big risk to take.

A lot of guys have slept with prostitutes and don't admit it. I'm sure that after VD testing, it'd be okay to pursue the relationship.

I wouldn't want to marry a guy who's been with a prostitute because if you know anything about prostitutes they don't care who they sleep with and they never get cheated out to ee if they have something. and with a prostitute you don't know what you would get. I mean for all you know they might have aids, herpes, or something. I wouldn't want to put myself at risk and I wouldn't want the one I'm going to marry be at risk either. if I was interested in someone and found out that they had been with a prostitute I wouldn't even have anything to do with them or even continue with them at all. I wouldn't want to caught something that I wouldn't be able to get rid of or something that's going to kill me. if the man was that desperate for sex then he can keep paying for it and kill his self in the long run. I don't even see why an man would be that desperate for sex.

It looks like some things are best left unsaid.
Millions of married/co-habiting men have been with a prostitute at one time or another.

Please try to understand his position. If it was a long time ago, give him a chance (After having him properly tested) and as a friend...of a friend....of a boyfriend.....you can ask him questions and what not, without him feeling pressured.

Only if they repented from their past and promise not to do it again (and submit to STD and VD testing).
