Have you ever tried standing beneath waterfall? Or carry water in a bucket..? I assure you, water is heavy... :-)))

No all round answer. Depends on too many variables including altitude, mass, speed ect.
Heavy is referring to the amount of rain not the weight of it.

When its raining lightly it is very very light and when it rains heavily it weighs a ton and can bring down canopies, trees, carry cars away as well as animals and people....cause floods, landslides etc etc. so its very very heavy!!!!!

a drop,is heavy enough to fall to the ground,must be rather heavy.

i guess it depends how far up the rain is coming from....
and i think when they say, expect heavy rains, i think they mean the volume, but seeing how you like to twist words.....
when i said voulme.....your probably gonna say...."i dont hear anything"
