Hi Jo,
No, i don't mind. with pleasure i would add. U rarely get a chance to hear an "i love u" from someone u don't know. il savor it. Thank you.

I don't mind and would respond the same way out of courtesy ... but, the reality is, we both know that this could only be true if we felt that way about every person that neither of us know anything about.
I suppose if you're Mother Theresa this could be true but most likely, it's not.
So, in essence, we've both expressed a slight untruth. I'm not saying that this is a sin as the statement can do more good than bad.
One thing a very wise man taught me as a child ... never offer compliments loosely or w/ insincereity because ea. time you do, you decrease the value.
I spent 3 summers w/ this man and on the rare occasion he would express a compliment to me, I couldn't have felt better or been prouder because this REALLY meant something.
So, if you reserve this statement for that special someone, close friends and family, they will have a greater appreciation for it.

I would be extremly flattered and probably respond with an I love you too. This being in the decent sense of course.
