My b/f and I are waiting to hear the scheduled date of his hernia surgery. His hernia pains have always been on one side until today, now they are on both sides and he is in twice as much pain. Meanwhile, looking for suggestions on what to do for the pain.

have your boyfriend contact his medical doctor and ask for additional pain medication explaining the intensity of his pain. He can use a hot water bottle for twenty minutes, several times a day on the area of Pain.

Hi, I'm sorry your b/f is in pain. I know just how it feels, I have one also. I know this may sound gross, but when my hernia hurts that bad its because I need to use the bathroom. Also he should try taking ibuprofen. If none of that helps and he is still in pain, I would recommend taking him to the emergency room. He may need surgery now and the pain is letting his body know something serious is wrong. Please don't wait to long because it could be life threatening. Good luck, and I wish you the best.

Have him wear loose clothes fitting clothes around the waist area. Don't lift anything heavy. Don't strain. Tell him to take a tylenol with his pain meds to increase the strength.
