The Genographic Society has traced the ancestory of all humans back to a woman in Central Africa some 60,000 years ago.

If you Google "Genographic" you can read all about it.

Of course, the religious folks don't believe it...they rarely find anything truthful in pure science; preferring, instead, to stick to myths and fairy tales.

Depends on your religious beliefs. -You could Adam (God created him, etc. -Genesis -Creation Story). However, you could be Atheist or whatever and not believe this. Additionally, you could believe in evolution (people evolved over time) then you would have to clarify what "person" would be. (Also, a person who believes in religion may not necessarily be against the theory of evolution...)

Humans gradually evolved from another species, Homo erectus.
There was no single "first person".
