Whenever I watch videos on YouTube it pauses every few seconds for like one second then continues.
This makes it very difficult to watch videos.

I have high speed wireless (54mbps) and there's nothing wrong with it, so why don't my YouTube videos stream continuously?

When you are going to watch a video press pause at first and wait untill the red bar is at least half way full until pressing play that means that half of the video is loaded if it is all of the way then it all way loaded! I hope i helped!

Your wireless speed has nothing to do with your internet speed, as "high-speed internet" does not even come close to the speed of wireless.

To play continuously, the bar at the bottom needs to be red. This means that the video has finished "downloading" to the computer, and is now completely buffered. If you start playing it before this point, parts of the video may not be available to it.

Now, if the video is taking a long time to download, that may mean there is a problem, most likely that too many things are being downloaded over your Internet connection, or a problem with YouTube (though if it happens every day, then the problem is probably on your end).

that 54mbps number you quoted is the speed of your wireless connection... NOT the speed of your internet (more likely somewhere between 512Kbps and 8Mpbs)... if you have DSL you're most likely closer to the lower end of that range... jumpy video is usually caused by slow internet, so I would say that is causing your problems...
