I'm going to vote for my adopted hometown, Pittsburgh. It was just voted most liveable city by Rand McNally.

The cost of living here is incredibly low, there is a lot of cultural things to do, great sports teams, good schools, excellent healthcare, world-class colleges and universities, and it's a pretty safe city.

Pittsburgh is really just a patchwork quilt of different neighborhoods, each with its own personality. So you live in a city, but it has a small-town feel.

You get four distinct seasons, but it doesn't get beastly hot like in the south nor do you get seven months of winter like in New England.

The only drawback to Pittsburgh is that jobs are tight - but if you have a job that you like, you're all set.

The answer is: Sandpoint or Bonner's Ferry, or anywhere in Northern Idaho,
Why?: Beautiful country and friendly people. One of the coolest places I have ever lived. Don't let those cold winters scare ya.

Florida: grew up there and saw all the changes. Alot of people call Florida home but not too many are native Floridians ( called Florida Crackers ). It's gotten crowded, kinda like a mini-California is the best way I can describe it. Beautiful beaches on both coast. Many large to smaller cities with lots of entertainment and activities. Florida is a melting pot with all nationalites and is not just for retired folks anymore. It is brutal in the summer months (Hot). Winters can be cold too, believe it or not. Many rivers and lakes and beautiful country.

If you like hot weather most of the year, florida is a good place. I think the best places in the US are western Washington, San Diego, and parts of northern California. Florida's landscape is dull, there are no mountains. Yes there are streams and lakes, but there are much nicer ones in Georgia, SC, NC and other states.

Florida is a great place to live. I lived in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida for 15 years and I loved it, it is absolutely beautiful. BUT, it is getting expensive and the hurricanes are bad.

The schools in Seattle, WA are the best!!! The problem is that our United States have so many beautiful places to see and be!!! I would like to live anywhere it gets sunny from time-to-time, and where the people are friendly. I like lots of Pine trees.
May God bless you.

It all depends what you like or what you are into. Swimming, surfing, mountains, hiking, city, country, beach, whatever.
