I am going on Wednesday to observe a brain surgery for an aneurysm. I am very nervous but think it is important to know what I am studying!!!!

Never ever in my life. Especially brain surgery!!!
I would just die from the site of cutting open someone and seeing all that blood. But, if you think it's important for what you're studying, then I think go for what you feel comfortable in.

Yes, in fact I plan on becoming a surgical technologist. So yes I would love to observe all types of surgeries.
I watch surgeries on tv all the time, I just cant wait until I can see them in person.

Yeas, i did.. The cable channels had a weekly show on microscopy surgeries. Interesting... I would not eat anything that might make someone nausiated. I would wear some dark glasses. If allowed, i would bring a camera or an pda or notepad.

Well, I'll just say it's not one of my "life goals". That's for sure. I've seen some surgery on TV and I have to change the channel after a bit. While it can be interesting I don't think it necessary to watch unless I really need to; and since I don't need to, I won't.

I have. It's fine as long as you aren't one of those who faint at the sight of blood. I personally do not. I found it interesting intellectually, but the brain surgery was not the most interesting thing I have ever witnessed.

Yes! That would be so cool. I took a physiology class in high school and we were going to see an open heart surgery but it didn't work out. I was so bummed.
