Husband is incarcerated. We have not been together for 15 years. I have been with my boyfriend for 10 years and we want to get married.
I have not had the money for the divorce up until now.
Can anyone please tell me how I go about starting this process?
I live in texas if that matters...thank you very much!

If you do not have children or property and he is agreeable to the divorce, it should be pretty straight foward. If there are children, property or he contests the divorce you will need a lawyer. There are a number of law offices that will happily give you a consultation, and there are many women's centers that will offer you assistance and resources as well.

Just file for divorce on basis of spouse incarcerated and the process will go from there

Hire an attorney in your area. It's actually not that hard to do. You know where he is so it's easy to have him served. I doubt he will fight you on it. If he does, he has to find someone to hire an attorney for him and be willing to act as his power of attorney to handle all of the court matters. It should be just fine, it's been so long I don't think any judge is going to force you to stay with him. Good luck.
