My choices are:
1) Ric Flair - for his great influence in the development of the ways in which heels and stables work.
2) Hulk Hogan - I despise the guy but he did help Vince bring wrestling to a new level early on (still a huge Billy Graham rip-off, lol)
3) Terry Funk - for being the first major hardcore icon and paving the way for Foley etc.
4) Shawn Michaels - for pointing the business in the right direction before the Attitude Era really flourished as well as for having had a remarkably undervalued impact on many of today's wrestlers.
5) The Rock - for having a huge hand in establishing "entertainment" and comedy as major parts of today's wrestling product.

1. Hulk Hogan - he is the foundation of the wwe.

2. Ric Flair - he was great as a heel and also the leader of the 4 horsemen

3. Terry Funk/ Mick Foley - helped to make hardcore wrestling what it is today.

4. Steve Austin/The Rock - even though I think austin was a couple years before the rock, they both helped an industry that was floundering.

5. Triple H/Shawn Michaels - by themselves or together they have and still do carry the WWE for the next generation of wrestlers. Although I do not believe that they are ready to call it quits just yet.

Bang on the money my friend!!
That's the exact order I would have chosen them.
Flair: Outstanding heel and basically carried the entirety of professional wrestling throughout the 80's and the man WCW relied on heavily!

Hogan: I hate the man, but as u said, Vince couldn't have done it without him

Funk: The hardcore Icon, without this man their wouldn't have been an ECW and hardcore wrestling wouldn't be as popular across Europe and the US.

HBK: Whats to say really? he's had a hugely underrated impact and helped mold what wrestling should be today, a great story that's backed up by a great performance.

The Rock: EVERYONE smelled what he was cooking in the "attitude" era. he was cooking the next step in professional wrestling, showing that heels don't always have to be monsters and setting the grounds for more entertaining champions.

For me I choose:

Hulk Hogan
Ric Flair
The Undertaker
The Rock
Shawn Michaels

Hulk Hogan, Ric Flair, Undertaker, and Shawn Michaels to me are wrestling legends and have devoted so much of thier lives to wrestling. Hogan is a Hall of Famer, and the other 3 will be future Hall of Famers.

The Rock became the definition for sports entertainment and made wrestling fun to watch.

Also, one other person that has been very influential is Stone Cold. He had so many memorable fueds and also was very entertaining just like The Rock.

1. Hulk Hogan: i am not a hogan fan but without hogan there probably would not be a wrestling section on YA cause he and vince made wrestling what it is today

2. Ric Flair: the four horseman, and the devolpment of heels.

3. Bret Hart: the best technical wrestler ever, his "wrestling" ability made the haters of high flying and showmen tune in to watch what a great technical wrestler could do

4.The Rock: the most popular superstar ever, he took wrestling to a whole other level of popularity

5. HHH: he reinvented the heel and possibly the most hated and most loved wrestler at the same time ever

1. Shawn Michaels- With his cocky attitude and bad boy image, he shaped wrestling for Austin and the rock ten years ago.

2. Hulk Hogan- Without him, i doubt wrestling would be what it is, he used theme music first, he became a bad guy first..etc.

3. Stone Cold- If there was no Austin, there would have been no attitude era, and wrestling would not be like it is today.

4. The Rock- He put on some great matches, and introduced us to comedy in wrestling.

5. Andre the Giant- I think that without him, wresting wouldnt be as popular as it is today, he jump started Hogans career, and many others.

Nice list, here are my five:

1. Hulk Hogan. Without him wrestling wouldn't be what it is today, love him or hate him.
2. Gorgeous George. This is where heels like Flair and HHH get their gimmicks from....
3. Antonio Inoki. One of the greatest wrestlers/fighters of his time, Inoki helped bring New Japan Pro Wrestling to international prominence.
4. Jushin "Thunder" Liger. Changed the way smaller guys wrestled in the ring. One of the greatest high-fliers of all time
5. The Rock. They called him "The most electrifying man in sports entertainment" for a reason...history will look back nicely at him I think.

You get a star from me.

I like this questions. O.k in order of the most influencial to least influencial.

Hollywood Hulk Hogan- This guy basically made people start watching wrestling on tv. He was a great face and heel with a character that appealed to every one. Apart from his lame finisher, this guy was the most popular superstar in the mid 80s to the late 90s and is the only wrestler to win the two major wrestling titles (WWF/WCW) 5 times each. Personally, i think he is also responsible for bringing movie watchers to being part of the wrestling audience.

The Rock- By far this is the most popular wrestler to date. With his flashy style and great charisma, he made many people want to raise their eyebrows and wear a sun glass in the night. He, along with Hogan, was one of the few superstars that was loved by everyone both as a heel and a face. Both his finishers are good and his mic skills was fantastic. It was great to see the great one talk crap at other superstars and also the Boss. This superstar is so great that bringing him back could save the failing smackdown. Personally i like how he broke Vince's kiss my *** club and made him kiss Rikishi's ***.

Stone Cold Steve Austin- Austin 3:16 revolutinized attitude era, as he had attitude with every one. Along with The Rock, Austin was another superstar to talk smack to Vince, who most superstars feared. With one of the best finishers in the wwe, Austin's charachter was also loved both as a heel and a face and his mic skill wasn't that bad either. His personality made people want to say hell yeah just as a catch phrase everytime and i think he influenced many people to drink beer.

Triple H- The Game, as he is sometimes called is a great superstar. Eventhough his charachter is more preferred as a heel, he is one of the few heels that is respected by the audience. With great charisma and mic skills like The Rock, HHH is a very good maineventer and is professional about his job (unlike Austin). He also has a great finisher that could ligitimately injure anyone. Along with his record of being a ten time champion, HHH has also beaten the biggest and the baddest. He made everyone want to spit water in the air anytime they got the chance.

The Undertaker- The Pheonom is one of wwf/e's seasoned veterans that know how to entertain whether he is a dark destructer or an American Badass. His mic skils is also great but he lacks the charisma. His finishers are among the most mainful if done correctly and he is a superstar that can take on any opponent head on. Along with Austin and the Rock, The Undertaker's storylines are more exciting and enticing and are what the people want to see. His characther had people fretting when they heard the bell toll (Dong).

Your list looks very reasonable, but as much as Rock was my favorite wrestler of all time, I think Stone Cold had more of an impact on the business. I really hate Hogan but he was in the right place at the right time, and HBK is a slimeball backstage but entertains like none other.
