Berlin has 3 airports: Tegel, Tempelhof and Schoenefeld. Erfurt also has an airport, but a very very small one.

If you need to get to Erfurt from Berlin, take the train.
The distance between Berlin and Erfurt is not large enough to justify flying. Scheduled flights to Erfurt leave from Duesseldorf, Cologne, Munich and Hamburg. Any scheduled flight from Berlin (or elsewhere) to Erfurt would need to go via these cities. (From Berlin this is like flying to Boston from New York City via Chicago - total waste of time and money plus unnecessary environmental polllution.)
From Tegel Airport, take the TXL bus to Zoo trainstation or another bus to the main train station.
From Schoenefeld airport, walk to the DB ticketing machine. It is on the left side of the walk way under the tracks when you come from the airport. (The two machines on the right are for S-Bahn local trains only). Tell the ticketing maschine you need a train ticket to Erfurt Hbf. It will give you connections and price in English and you can pay with credit card. (Ask Germans for help if the thing befuddles you.)

Take the train! It's only 2.5 hrs and costs 50 euro. You'll more time and money trying to fly.
There are trains that go direct Berlin to Erfurt, or trains that switch at Leipzig (also a good choice).

You should use the ICE trains, since the plane is very expensive.
The best way is, to start your journey at Berlin Hauptbahnhof (Main station of Berlin) and take a train, there are 2 possibilities
1st - take a direct train
2nd - take a train to Leipzig and change there for a train to Erfurt
Ask the station staff about your plan and I'm sure they will help you with getting a ticket and entering to correct train.

I was looking for you, and only found a flight from Berlin Tegel which would around 265 Euros for the cheapest flight. The train - of course - would be a lot cheaper, but it would be longer traveling. From the Tegel airport the cheapest one would be 50 Euros with getting on another train once.

Definitely take the train. It's not only so much cheaper and more flexible (many connections), but what with check-in lines and security controls it's also faster than flying.
