I'm from the UK and I've never had a chance to visit Sydney and I know that even if I go there I'll only see the tourist side of it. I'm writing a small story on a teenage girl who goes from the UK to Sydney for couple of months (to live with a rich family) I want it to be feasible so I'm doing research... as locals what's Sydney like, because every city has a different and magical charm ;D

In every season but winter (and even in winter, to some extent) the focus is outdoors. Sailing and surfing during the day. Al fresco dining on balmy nights. Bars on the water with wide open doors and terraces.. Lazing around pools. Barbecues as outdoor informal entertaining. Convertibles.

For young folk it is all about strappy dresses and fit bodies. Fairly hedonistic, I think.

Yup, Sydney is very outdoorsy... and real quite expensive since it's the most popular city in Australia (and probably among the most known in the world). Sydney is really known for its sparkling beaches. Australia is like that: Beach-Beer-Bar b q

We look alike...hehe...spooky?

Sydney is a fabulous place to live. Lots of warm weather and focus is definitely outdoors, beaches, outdoor eating, drinks on the terrace etc etc.

She would definitely want to visit during Summer for the most fun!

Here is a link to some beautiful Sydney homes in beachside suburbs...could give you some insight. Hope it helps
