I call it survival. Sometimes, I keep my sanity by talking aloud to myself about situations in my life. I was thinking of getting myself a wire and just hang it from my ear so people will think I am talking on a cell phone, rather than talking to myself.

I guess you could call it a monologue -- and I do it all the time when I'm alone. Sometimes it helps me keep things in focus. Other times I vent to myself when I am angry or upset. It's kind of a habit I've developed over the years.

I call it thinking aloud.

Because you are talking to yourself and trying to acheive a solution of some sorts.
