that depends on the situation:
1. If its a group of people you dont know then just walk away with no worries cause you'll never see them again.
2. At work....just say you've been working hard and eating unhealthy that gas is a product of your hard work.
3. Family....who gives a s hit. they are family and you should always share!
4. Friends...See previous.
5. Boss and manager....farting is allowed and they wont fire you. worse case is that they pretend it didnt happen and they wont bother you in the future with the fear of smelly gas.

I'd continue laughing and having a great time, because I know when I go home and go to bed tonight it's not gonna matter if I farted in public or not.

If nobody says anything, I act as if nothing happened. If someone notices, I blame it on the person next to me : )

I try to leave the situation before the smell gets to anybody. Then I may not have to take responsibility for it.
