that was inspiring in a strange sense. what a turn around you made. maybe the homophobia was a mirror of who you were. i hope now you are happier and can move on:)

Yes, we always do that. Sometimes we do not notice, but we are always changing...

But that is not to feel guilty in the sense of censure or reprove...because we change to get a better way... guilty and better are not precisely words... depend on what we are looking for in our lives.

In a large sense we are always guilty(responsible) for everything that is happening in the world.

Do not stay reproving your past... go ahead and look for better actions.

Guilty? No. I am amazed at some of the things that I have done in my life. I have no guilt about the past because that would be counter-productive to my present & possibly future life on this planet! I simply don't repeat the things I have done in the past that were counter-productive to begin with! In other words, I have life experience! EVERYTHING happens for a reason! Find the good in what once was thought of as bad & you will have a life that is free from guilt!!!

I used to be really bigoted. I hated gay people and was dead set against gay marriage. I even ordered a bumper sticker from the 700 club that said "[Picture of a Man] + [Picture of a Woman] = MARRIAGE" At school, I remember a lesbian couple pointing and laughing at the sticker. I later became friends with one of them and she brought up the bumper sticker thing laughing. When I backed my car into a tree at church at night, the bumper sticker was ruined. So, I ordered another one. I would go into gay chat rooms for two things. Sometimes I went on there and made fun of gays, which almost got my AOL account banned. I would also go in there and talk to them, as a open homosexual. Then I began to accept my own homosexuality that I always knew was there. Now I'm pro-gay marriage. I'm still in the closet though...

I used to believe that the world was like the cartoon strawberry shortcake. I was an ignorant 3 yr old and I just assumed that money wasn't real because nobody on strawberry shortcake had to use it. If you needed something from the bakery, you just took it and everyone was happy. I was paranoid in my belief that money was a concept that my parents had made up to deprive me of what I desired.

If I cheated on my partner then i would, but guilt is a strong emotion. Some people confuse 'feeling bad' ie, taking the last seat on a crowded bus and an actual feeling of guilt, doing something that changes something/someone dramatically.

My position on the issue has not changed, but my attitude towards the person did, they are one of Gods creations, and I can not call myself a Christian and harbor the feelings I had, so I changed my attitude towards that person.

Yes. It has helped me learn to be more tolerant and less confrontational. On the other hand the same experiences have helped me define what I truly believe in, what I am willing to fight and die and kill to protect.

I used to be racist against Mexicans. That was back in Junior High / early High School. Now I'm married to one, and another is my son.
