There is a simple rule to follow
2 negitives = a positive
2 positives = a positive
1 negitive and 1 positive = a negitive
so you have 2 negitives meaning its positive or a plus/addition sign
so its really -7 + 1
so its easy to create a number line if you dont know how to do it in ur head
