(Starts singing Bowie's "Loving the Alien".) It defiantly depends on what type of alien it was! I believe that they exist, and that some are even the future of the human race, evolved, coming back through time to study itself, as archaeologists studied prehistoric man. This is only one certain type. I think that most aliens are able to use a universal way to communicate via a Universal language...empathy, emotions and visual symbols. If speaking in this language, we could immediately know what sort of creature we were dealing with, good or bad. If it was a good one, I would be highly honored and delighted to sit and have a cup of tea, or whatever. If it were any other sort, the nastiest, well then, I would run as fast as my tiny little legs would carry me! ;-)

I saw a large hovering silver saucer shaped craft one day.hovering a hundred feet or so above a large building.32 years ago.I was driving along and it tried to mind control me with a thought, "That's Nothing. Go one down the road", but i knew that wasn't my thought , and darn, their was nothing holding it up i thought, it was a Craft of some sort,.i pulled over and looked at it for a while till a thought came into my head that i had BETTER go on. so i did. this is true. i swear to God it is.if i ever see one again and i have my rifle i will shoot at it.and if i saw one in person .an alien being. i would kick its *** for trying to come to my planet without permission. mind controlling people. and doing what ever their doing .their up to something. their not here just sightseeing.

Illegal or legal? Sorry, couldn't resist. I think I would continue to stare and be like one of those people on the movies who are killed because they don't act fast enough, or befriend the alien because they take the time to get to know they are not dangerous. I just don't make judgments on people that quickly and wouldn't on aliens either I imagine.

Well, I'm really scared about aliens, so, if it saw me, and I also saw it, I would scream, and after that, maybe I would run as faster as my legs let me....
But maybe the alien is also scared about me, so I would try to talk to it. If it answer me, I would try to know if it is a dangerous alien or a good one. If it is a dangerous one, I would try to fight it, screaming phrases like: go away, to the shadows you came from! Go back to the abism that is waiting for you and your master!.......jeje, like Gandalf in the Lord Of The Rings....
But if I discovered it is a good alien, who only comes to Earth for Researching Investigations, I would try to answer its questions about our antique technology, and prehistoric life.

i don't think i would even realize it, i follow Sylvia Brown and she is a world renowned psychic. she has said that aliens are all around us but they look like a regular human, so with that being said we've all probably come into contact with at least one but did not realize it.
