I have a fairly strong Geordie accent (that's from the northeast of England for anyone in another country), and some people find me quite difficult to understand

Strong regional accents are terrible, I'm from Yorkshire and I cringe when I hear it on TV or radio....take Big Brother, Channell is from Wakefield a 10 minute drive from where I live and she sounds awful. I find Geordie's, Liverpudlians, Scott's and Northern Irish really hard to understand......Sorry I'm ranting a bit, I don't really have a favourite, I quite like the Aussie accent.

Being half-Geordie myself I'm sure I'd have no issues understanding you.

I don't really have a favourite accent - in all honestly I can hardly hear them any more (unless they're REALLY thick) as I've travelled about so much. I like accents with character - West country to make me chuckle is a fave. Not sexy though.

I love the Geordie accent. I found Auf Weidersein Pet very amusing because of the accent. I also love the Irish accent.

I cannot believe how many answers you have already!
being a yorkshire girl i'm quite used to that accent, but i'm one of those people that picks up accents easily. i lived in newcastle for all of a week, and was surprised at the lingo being so different form ours. i also like scottish, some irish and cornish accents. i'm terrible for copying essex and cockney accents, its got me into trouble before!

HUN I LOVE the Geordie accent....but as a Brit living in the USA to be able to hear any voice from home is rather nice.

It would be easier for me to say which one I do NOT like.

Regards and look after England for me :]
