Should Christians let go of their possesions and not let possesions control them and rely on their instincts, skills and minds to live?

1. No, we shouldn't let possessions control us, because they're only possessions and will eventually be worthless. This doesn't necessarily mean, however, that we need to get rid of them, though. and 2. But no, relying on their "their instincts, skills and minds to live" is what non-believers do. Christians rely on God and His Word for guidance.

Everything we have (our talent, skills, possessions and intelligence) is a gift from God. As Christians, we should use these gifts in ways to glorify Him. Just remember not to value anything on earth more than the One who created it.
