Can't a deserter declair that any war is "immoral"
Is it possible for any free society to maintain a standing army, if soldiers are allowed to decide which orders they will obey?
Can we even retain an ordered society, if each citizen can decide which laws they will obey, and which ones they will ignore?
Are courts qualified to decide which war or which orders are moral, and which are immoral?

DEKARDKAIN---
Th Nuremberg trials might not have concerned itself specificaly with the war; but since it was addressing the moral behavior of soldiers in wartime, it could have judged the morality, of a defeated enemy, in any aspect of it's exicution of the war.
Will future war crimes trials accept these limitations on their judgement.

WOLF---you're right, however, the further consideration is, does every citizen have the right to make these determinations on his own, and protest or otherwise sabotage the war efforts of others?

BEESTING---Our constitution was written by men who had no idea about how our country's interests would expand thoughout the world, or how we would have to fight overeas to stop dictators from conquering the world.

Do you believe that Afghanistn and Iraq would have been polite enough to inform us that they had these weapons and were now ready to attack us?
Wasn't there a sneak attack on our country a few times already?

Yes; the liberals may have done more harm to free societies than anyone could ever dream.
The very people who use their freedoms to the limit, may be the ones who end free societies.
If we are all going in different directions, like headless chickens, our country will be severely weakened.
If your conscience tells you to push when others are pulling, you may feel justified , but what happens to the country?
If you have such differences w/ your country, you should use your "freedom" to leave it.

We haven't tried to systematically wipe a race of people off the face of the Earth, so a trial the likes of Nuremberg would be a waste of time. It wasn't the fact the Nazi's waged war that was the issue (notice how there were no trials after W.W.I, even though the Germans started it?), it was what they did DURING the war that was the issue.

If you & the other readers will carefully read the U.S. Constitution, as Congressman Ron Paul has done, you will see that the USA itself is supposed to be protected by armed Militia, stationed with in the borders of the USA, and not scattered all over the world like the military is now.
Immigration's job is to see that no terrorists or potential terrorists get into the country, in the first place.
Yes, war is immoral, especially when the Iraqi & Afghanistani people have no offensive weapons capable of attacking the USA mainland.
Thank you.

If you will recall the Nuremberg trial had nothing to do with war and those that were casualties of war. It had to do with crimes against humanity. In other words what went outside the scope of war such as the senseless slaughter of Jews, gays, handicaps, Gypsy's and the others they felt were a burden on their society.

Exactly.
Chaos would reign if we would decide what laws to break or keep.
Like when clinton lied to a grand jury and his supporters said "he just lied about sex." He still broke the law and had to be punished by:
-being disbarred
-being impeached
