Congress is still hanging at 14% but the President jumped up considerably over the last poll to 39%.

Seems like people are holding the demoncrats responsible for the mess America is in, and more believe that Bush is doing what he was hired to do.

I'm glad you brought this up today - I was wondering when Americans were going to wake up and realize that President Bush has done NOTHING BUT THE BEST for this country and it derided by the liberals for doing what he thinks is right at EVERY turn.
Our President has courage and conviction. I respect him and now it seems more people are coming over to our side! YAY!

"Whatever you do, you need courage. Whatever course you decide upon, there is always someone to tell you that you are wrong."

Congress should be held responsible for the majority of problems that are currently facing our country. Everything they do in congress is considered grandstanding to look good without actually having to do anything at all. They wait to see which position is popular at the moment, then play the card for a while and jump ship when it looks bad. The reason I hold Bush accountable also, being a conservative, is that he fails to adequately explain why he does what he does. He could have dispelled alot of the ignorance from the left with some simple explanations to the American people. Just like a CEO is held accountable to the stockholders he represents, the president is accountable to the American people. It is his job to explain it to even the simplest minded American...i.e. the liberals..lol...terrorism cannot be averted by hugging trees people.

If you leave these issues up to the voters, they will vote only in favor of what benefits them and against everyone else. Government has to protect the rights of all citizens. If you have a referendum on some issues, you would end up possibly people voting against other peoples civil rights like with Prop 8 in California, or impose a cigarette tax on your fellow citizens who smoke again like California. Thats the problem with the referendum process. I favor our legislative process to determine policy, not the guy next door who is blinded by prejudices.

Maybe if both sides would start being solution based rather than sound bite ritderrect, we could give the Iraqi people a better life than when Saddam was over them. If we don't Al Quida simply has to shoot at both sides to create a civil war. The US & the world deserve better leadership than backbiting

It's good to finally see some polls that aren't catering to the extreme left. I still don't put much stock into polls though. Any poll can be skewed as the pollster sees fit.

Don't get me wrong, I think this pathetic democrat controlled congress deserves these low ratings, and Bush deserves some gratitude for sticking to his guns on the war, amidst much controversy and low ratings. Not to mention how well our economy is doing because of his tax cuts. Very low unemployment, record highs in the stock market and a lot of federal revenue.

Don't pay attention to gargle-on-vomit-woogle-boo, he must have been abused or belittled by a conservative sometime in his life.

This is not going to sit well with the Socialists and their Big Lie about Republicans bailing on Bush.

I would not be surprised to see the Congressional numbers go lower, maybe even single digit in October of next year, just in time for the Democrats to be voted out of Congress.

Once people see what a joke the democrats are, I believe the number will go even lower, they were not elected to have witch hunts on the current administration but that is all they seem to be capable of.

I think the poll shows that Americans are fed up with ALL politicians. Congress especially is horrible.
