Republicans borrow and spend the country into dangerous national debt while Democrates tax and spend, but at least don't create as much more debt as Republicans.

I'd rather tax then spend.
the borrow & spend method doesn't do much, but delay the inevitable. We are still going to have to pay that money back, by eventually raising taxes.
At least if you tax up front, theres not a huge bill at the end. We would have paid as we went along.
If we are gonna have to flip the bill, i'd rather do it gradually over time with minimal interest, then get a huge bill at the end.

Ever notice how the economy is booming when the Republicans are at the helm and how the Dems reverse that after about six years in office. Their high taxes bring everything to a standstill and then it takes Conservatives another six years to strengthen the economy again. Our debt would not be bad at all if it were not for the war and even at that it is being lowered at a good pace as the economy picks up steam.

The premise of your question is that Democrats and Republicans spend the same amount and that the only difference is whether they fund it through taxes or borrowing.

Under Bush, Republicans have spent like drunken sailors. Historically, though, Republicans spend much less. Even during the recent spending binge by the Republican congress, most Democrats in congress wanted to spend even MORE.

By the way you framed your question, I would choose Democrats. However, based on the real differences between Democrats and Republicans, I definitely would choose Republicans.

... this is our country.. if we want it to work.. we all have to pay. I know we are taxed unfairly.. the middle class having most of the burden.. that should be changed... but until then.. we all have to pay if we want our country to stay the way it is and have the freedoms we enjoy.

Every time the Republicans get into power.. they spend every last cent and then sit back for the next 8 years and ***** about why the Dems are taxing people.

Anyone with half a brain should be able to figure it out.. amazing how many do not even use that half a brain.

The excuse is national security spending. I'm not condoning the excesses...and is not representative of the economic policies of Republicans
Less tax stimulates the economy and actually generates more income for the government.

I'm in favor of tax and spend less

Ha! Have you compared spending budgets of Bush and Clinton? Cripes, there's no comparison!

Yeah, okay, generally republicans are aligned with a more conservative fiscal plan, but in the years of the Bush, that mold was broken.

Tax and spend.

At least we're not passing the debt on to our children.
