When I was in high school I liked the boy who had the locker next to mine. He just happened to be the co-captain of the basketball team. He wasn't like the other jocks but was very shy, quiet, sweet. We would glance at each other and smile, but neither one of us had the nerve to speak first. One day when I was going to the locker room to change for gym I saw him going down the stairs. I caught up to him and started talking. Everything was going fine until the basketball manager spotted us and yelled up to him to catch the basketball. I was (understandably) annoyed for being interrupted and without thinking caught the ball one-handed instead of letting him get it. My hand looked like it was glued to that ball. There was dead silence. Finally I smiled weakly, said bye, and went to the locker room. I wouldn't go to my locker until I was sure he was gone. Obviously I didn't go to the prom with him.

The most embarrasing thing that has ever happened to me would be when I was running in the hallway at school and a boy tripped me and I feel right in the trash can.

I'd love to tell you, but it is way too embarrassing! But, I did learn one thing from the experience. "It is better to be thought a fool than to open one's mouth and remove all doubt." (Get the idea??)
