What say you all about the underrated pinch hitters? You can go past and present.
To me, one of the greatest was Greg Gross of the Phillies and Joe Lebreve.

Hey, Smokey Burgess made pinch hitting glamorous, don't forget. Until his last year, he was the Babe Ruth of pinch hitting. Manny Mota was the first to cash in. He topped all of Smokey's records, but Smokey deserves a little credit.
Oh, Rusty Staub was the best off-the-bench pinch hitter. He only stopped because the owners forced a 24 man roster one year so Rusty lost the job.

John Vander Wal had a couple of really good seasons pinch-hitting.

Lenny Harris is the best pinch hitter ever. He had 212 in his career. BY FAR the most.
