Are Communists and Socialists Considered Liberals?

A U.S. born communist was codenamed "Liberal" by the USSR. "Liberal" gave U.S. nuclear bomb documents to the USSR. With the documents the USSR was able to build nuclear bombs. Years later, the Cuban missile crisis took place.

Yes, communists and socialists are liberals, but that does not mean that anyone who is liberal is necessarily a socialist.

A "liberal" political philosophy means belief in increased government ownership of property and control over private lives. "Conservatives" believe in the opposite.

Socialism is a system in which the government owns all major property and centrally controls the economy. This is an extreme liberal position. Communism takes it a step further by also putting the government in control of the political process and removing the rights of individuals to create or contest laws.

One of the other answerers used the term "fascist" to describe people who would label communists and liberals. This person apparently does not know what fascism is and is simply using it as a way to put down those who oppose his/her point of view (that, in fact, is a characteristic of fascists).

A "fascist" is someone who believes is a small government with massive control over society. Fascism started in the 1930's in Italy under Mussolini and later in Germany under Hitler. The fascist philosophy is that people should have only a minimum of personal freedoms to run their lives but have no say over the political process.

Communists call their society "a dictatorship of the Proletariat" (meaning the working class citizens). Fascists also believe in a dictatorship, but their dictatorship comes from the upper class. Communisit is an extreme left wing philosophy, and fascism is considered an extreme right-wing philosophy. In the end, both systems give get you to the same point -- a military dictatorship.

The only difference is that Fascists tolerate private property ownership and a certain measure of economic freedom, while communists want to prevent citizens (other than party members) from achieving personal wealth.

It's interesting that even though Fascists and Communists create the same oppressive societies, they hate each other. Fascists are staunchly anti-communist (which is why they are sometimes labeled as right-wing). It's really a matter of power control. Fascists regimes usually start from the military and small groups of elite citizens. Communist regimes start from large working class uprisings and then recruit the military to gain control.

Liberals are socialists and some are more extreme!! They are slowly eroding our current democratic system. For instance, Ted Kennedy wants the FDA to take over the tobacco industry, Hillary wants to take profits from oil companies to fund socialist health care. The unfair tax on tobacco that would fund health care for poor children. All of the bans on smoking because the government cares so much about you and your health. The government tells us not to smoke, but please pay heavy taxes so that we can pay for others health care. So if no one smoked anymore, who would pay for the health care? Smokers are the most burdened group of people in this country! What they don't even realize that the majority of people who do smoke are poor to middle class.
They want to take money from the wealthy and redistribute it to the poor. They tried to pass the fairness doctrine to shut up their opposition. They are slowly eroding our right to bear arms by passing more gun laws. Our right to bear arms was put there by our founding fathers to protect the citizens of this country from an oppressive government.
Everyone knows from reading history, the best way to introduce and put in place a socialist or communist platform is to do it slowly. They must first teach us to hate the wealthy to separate the classes and then retrain our children. Take the power away from the parents and give it to the children. Then teach the children their way of life. They must take God out of everything in our government to break our will. The separation of church and state was put there to simply stop the government from having it's own government run church like England does. The Queen of England is the head of their church.
But the majority of Americans don't even see it! We have been so pampered and spoiled that we don't even care if the government starts taking away from us. We just keep allowing the government to pass gun laws, smoking bans, and unfair taxes. We complain because a company made profits. What is wrong with profits!!? The liberals have made it a horrible thing. It is not. I know this all sounds a bit off the wall, but if you step back and think. You will realize it is not. Please read the constitution and the bill of rights and you will realize what is going on. Plus if you read up on socialism and communism, you will see just how much our own country is starting to be just like that. Now that is scary!

No theyre considered Communists and Socialists. They are separate ideologies. Many political ideologies and economic ones have similarities but ultimately theyre separated for a reason because they are not the same.

Being a liberal doesn't mean they are true Commies. True commies share everything. Liberals just want everyone else to give up more for their causes or projects, even if it is not based on facts or truth.
