WHAT kind of scooter is it?? It`s really really rare for CVT pads to wear out. Some don`t even have them (LIke the 180-200cc Yamaha Riva)

E-mail me, lets figure it out..

Always give year, make, engine size and model # when asking questions. We need all of that info to give an informed answer.
What he meant by "pads" are the clutch shoes of the CVT clutch.

Click - Honda Motorcycle Parts
Then change to - Scooters - Yamaha - 2000 - RAZZ - Clutch
# 2 is the clutch
Centrifugal force (from the engine reving faster) causes the clutch shoes to spread apart.
They grab # 1 (the same as drum brakes in a car) which turns the drive belt.
If those clutch shoes were worn down, they wouldn't grab strong enough and slip.
With the proper tools, that can be checked in 15 minutes.
If your scooter has a 2 stroke engine, the problem could be-
Clutch
Drive belt
Piston & rings
Cloged muffler
Dirty air cleaner

Mals. Take a look back through your old questions and find the guy with the business selling these Chinese bikes and contact him. The answers he has given about things in the past shows he knows what he is talking about and trys to help his and potential customers. They are going to be your best bet I suspect.

I really don't mean to sound harsh but you were advised against buying this bike used - however it can be sorted but bear in mind these Chinese scooters are throw away items. You buy them, use them for a couple of years and when they go bang you throw it out and buy a new one. They are cheap enough to do that.

autos work on rollers and belts, nine times out of ten the rollers are warn and the belt is stretch. these will cause it to hold back and give poor acceleration. they should be changed every 5000km. when was it last serviced and if it is a 50 are the restrictors still in it. I am assuming 125 due to the cbt reference. so service, service, service. plug belt and rollers, if you can spend the money upgrade to pollini or malossi parts, longer lasting and more power.
