i dont want like death metal or screaming the whole time. i just want it to be like actually good metal music.

sarah c is right. Check out Dream Theater! It sounds like you're looking for something with melody and more straight ahead singing. Not really heavy genres like Death Metal, Black Metal, and Metalcore.

Twisted Sister, Alice Cooper,Skid Row, Faster Pussy Cat, Judas Priest.
Good "head banging" music but not too over the top.

there are a lot of different kinds of metal, Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden, Metallica, Judas Priest, Quiet Riot, Slipknot, if you can pick one of those then it would be easier to help, there is also the issue of what you would define as metal, it can be argued that groups like Led Zeppelin AC/DC or Jimi Hendrix are metal but that isn't a certainty, I just tried to break it down into all the different categories

my favorite band is death.
it is more melodical metal, and he screams, but you can understand what is being said (for the most part). the lyrics are introspective.
other than that, testament, mudvayne, deftones (not really metal, but good anyways), disturbed, godsmack, etc...
