Einstein's General Relativity equations suggest that the universe started off as an infinitestimal small point, high-energy, very low entropy, singularity. And then rapidly expanded at an enormous speed, cooling, and experiencing phase transitions over time. Has anyone noticed that the starting out very, very small and growing into far larger size seems to be a scheme found throughout nature, especially with life? Here's a parallel: human life starts out relatively small in a high-energy, low entropy state (the fertilized egg), and rapidly grows larger, relatively speaking. As it does so, energy decreases and entropy increases, much as it does with the universe. Does patterns in size, energy, and entropy suggest an underlying commonality in all things in nature? I believe it does just that. For examle, if we want to know about what happen prior to the singularity, just study events in fertilization prior to nuclei fusion and then extrapolate from the patterns.
Any thoughts?

If the degree of entropy and the amount of energy can help describe the natural evolution of a given system; the order of the universe and the evolution of life; might they also tell us something about black-holes and even cancer? Energy and entropy may suggest that a black-hole can be thought of as a model of a collapsing universe. And, the role of energy and entropy might indicate that the biological system of cancer could, in some fashion, be thought of as an indirect model of how a black-hole works. For example, both black-holes and cancer seems to operate in reverse to the natural order of things.
It all has to do with amount of energy, the degree of entropy, and the stability of the expression of order in any given system. Everything seems to be directly or indirectly connected from the singularity, through a duality of ever increasing omni-directional light-cones of fractal patterns throughout this infinitely expanding universe.

Scientists have done that, they tracked back to the first part of time, 10-43 second and ran into a wall called a singularity where all the known physical laws break down, even Einstein's E=MC2 breaks down here because the only part of the equation that existed was the E, it was not quantifiable because no matter existed.

Humans do not expand in the way that the universe does.
Humans accumulate mass by eating. The universe has a fixed amount of mass (well, mass-energy, but close enough).
Additionally, the entropy of a full-grown human is lower than that of a fetus, simply because of the higher complexity (due to the larger size). The entropy of the universe, however, increases as it expands.

This is very interesting..thank god someone on Yahoo Answers is asking good questions instead of "liK omg! whut du i du wit mah hair?!"
"Does patterns in size, energy, and entropy suggest an underlying commonality in all things in nature?"
I think everything in the universe is connected. Everything. So your question makes sense to me, that there would be parrallels. In fact, one of the scientists' goals is to complete an equation that explains everything in the universe that ever was, is and will be.
Sorry, I don't have more to say. You pretty much answered your own question and I happen to agree. =]

Nature means anything natural, and since the universe is natural, it conforms with nature, or nature conforms with physics and math. I see the parallels and patterns, though its really subtle to me...just take some free time to daydream it out, like philosophers and people before us, and maybe ull think of something. Einstein did that while he was a clerk...

In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. The earth was without form and void, and darkness was upon the face of the deep; and the Spirit of God was moving over the face of the waters.
God makes the first day and night; the "firmament" separating "the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament;" dry land and seas and plants and trees which grew fruit with seed; the sun, moon and stars in the firmament give light upon the earth; creates air-breathing sea creatures and birds; and on the sixth day, makes "the beasts of the earth according to their kinds." Then God said, Let us make man in our image ... in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them. On the seventh day God rests from the task of completing the heavens and the earth: So God blessed the seventh day and hallowed it, because on it God rested from all his work which he had done in creation.

Sorry, your point must have been really infinitesmally small because I really can't find it from the above.

eat some shrooms and/or lsd and you'll see the patterns alright.
no but seriously, the universe seems to be on a course as are humans throughout our existence. every passing minute is a minute further down the spiral.

Yes of course.
My street is parallel to Main Street.
The leaves on the oak tree in my front yard are fractals.
But seriously, I do think they're in nature -- everywhere!!!!
