The muslims are about 100 years behind the christofascists in their inexorable march towards secularism. Otherwise none at all when viewed as a group.

James, are you totally nuts? You're trying to be cute, but it comes across as ignorant. Fundamentalist Christians on this planet (and I'm not one) are not trying to destroy nations' governments to create a world free of borders and national identities which is ruled by Sharia law under one supreme caliphate. A world where you either convert or are murdered by having your head sawed off or are enslaved. A world where women have no rights and husbands are free to beat their wives at will. Fundamentalist Muslims are wanting to create just such a world. A world just like existed in Kabul, Afghanistan under the Taliban before Bush broke up their little party after 9/11. Those weren't Christians flying those planes! Have you not been listening to what the imams and Al Qaeda are saying?

Well, I must have a laugh at some of the responses.

Christians don't kill people? Tell THAT to the Native Americans...... The Christian faith killed them off by the thousands when they wouldn't convert.... Then, there are the Crusades, the Inquisition, the whacko offshoots like Koresh's bunch or Ruby Ridge nuts....The fundie screwballs who think it's perfectly OK to kill a physician who performs a perfectly LEGAL medical procedure - or bomb the clinic or hospital without regard of the number of people killed in the process.

Then there is the African slave issue -- where they weren't considered human and it was perfectly OK to abuse, mistreat, whip, lynch, rape and kill them....

And, today, in the name of god, prisoners are tortured, held in horrible conditions, denied basic human rights in Guantanamo - and other "secret" places we won't hear about for a long time.

The mentality is exactly the same, based on exactly the same fairly tales. The only difference is about 100 years.

As an agnostic I find christian fundamentalists a little annoying but I don't worry that they will try to cut my head off if I express doubt about their faith, they might look at me like they are smelling rotten onions but looks don't kill.

Both groups feel that the book they worship tells them that it is their mission in life to both convert everyone in their society to their faith and to dominate their government by any means they deem to be appropriate. The difference is that fundamentalist Muslims feel that violence and terrorist tactics are appropriate, fundamentalist Christians do not.

I don't see a difference in that. Fanatics are fanatics!

I'm sure, there're some Christians who debate this, like: "my blood is reacher than yours" so to speak, which proves the point of being a fanatic!!

"The mentality is the same."

Bald face LIE!

The difference is, MUSLIMS want to KILL you if you don't convert.

Christians on the other hand, Ask in a Loving and caring manner to give your heart over to the Lord. If you don't accept, then that's your choice, no one is forcing you. At least you are made know to the plan of Salvation, and that God Loves you.

There is NO comparison of the two buddy, NONE whatsoever.
