my cat peed on my bed a few months ago and I thought my husband got the smell out but everytime I go to bed, I guess the smell comes up out of the mattress and i don't know what to do. I thought of taking my carpet shampooer to it but I don't know if I should. Anyone got any advice??

You can use a shampoo machine or spray-on cleaner to clean the spot. To reduce the odor, I suggest sprinkling baking soda over the area, rub it in, let it sit for a few hours, and then vaccum up.
This is the best way; but if the odor keeps coming back, you need to get a new mattress, because it is deep down in the fibers.

Get Urine Gone. This will get rid of the stain, but not sure about the smell. I have used resolve carpet soap and my shampooer on my mattress when my husband got a bloody nose and bleed all over and you just have to let it dry for a while.

I would get a steam cleaner or call a furniture store that specializes in cleaning furniture.
