I have posted this in the medical section, but no replies. It is not a common problem. I will be having a consult in two weeks.
Does anyone here have it or know someone that did, and if so tell me about it.

For those that don't know. Tarsal tunnel is like carpal tunnel but it effects the feet not the hands.

The foot and ankle surgeon will examine the foot to arrive at a diagnosis and determine if there is any loss of feeling.During this examination, the surgeon will position the foot and tap on the nerve to see if the symptoms can be reproduced. He or she will also press on the area to help determine if a small mass is present.

I know what it is and about 23 years ago I was considering it, but the problem seems to have solved itself. I have had both carpal tunnels done, however. I presume they would do it the same way as the carpal tunnel surgery, by first exsanguinating the foot. I think you would be pretty much awake for the surgery. The surgeon may require an emg or nerve conduction study first.

I had TT surgery and fascia release 8 weeks ago. I ve been in PT for 2 weeks. My question is, what could be causing restrictions in moving my foot in an upward motion. It feels like a tendon is keeping it from moving. I first noticed it a week after surgery and there has been no improvement since then. My PT is trying to figure out why there is the tightness and so am I. Has anyone experienced this symptom after their surgery?

Do you possibly mean a Carpal Tunnel?? If so, yes I have had 2 surgeries. They did both my wrists when I was diagnosed with bi-lateral carpal tunnel syndrome.

Sorry I haven't had this problem nor have I known anyone with it either. Hopefully when you go for your consultation, you'll get all the information you will need.

what are you doing, typing with your feet?
I'm sorry... I'm just wondering how a repetitive motion injury could happen in your ankles?
