A toshiba isnt that bad but you might have some problems with it, I would consider an Apple Macbook Notebook. You cannot get any viruses on it and it has the fastest online system ever built. But if you are not looking for one of those then get a sony Viuo or whatever it is called, it is something like that. I am currently on a Presario C500 and it is working fine and I got it for $500. Windows vista though has a lot of problems sometimes. Dont get a mac if you are going to play games unless you buy the seperate operating system for a mac that lets you play games and still have the fast internet, HD videos, A mac is in best use for media files and school work, It play DVD's great and you will never have any problems with it. I am going to buy a Apple Macbook Notebook next month, I am in to the media files, Mac is also easy to organize.

Toshiba laptops are built with premium quality... My friends has a Toshiba laptop from 1990 and it STILL WORKS! Now that's quality...

we had the toshiba satelite for 1 yr and 2 months and it broke. they wanted 200-600 to fix. the screen went blank. i knew the drive was ok cus i hooked it to another monitor and all was well. anyways..i was disgusted so i wrote a letter to toshiba in calif. they called! offered to fix it out of warranty ONE TIME only..and they did! works now. i have read this is a known problem with toshiba.

i got a toshiba for christmas and it's is the best i have ever used. i've had no problems with and it works like a charm. the internet works fine and it's can have anything i need on it. i love it.

i had one and it was really slow and ended up having a bunch of errors and stuff..so yeah pretty much.
