I was having dinner at a Chinese restaurant last night & they had some beautiful coy and some of them were very active and some were really really still! Anyway that just got me wondering! ;o)

Yes, I do believe fish sleep and they do act still. It something like suspended animation. They just dont close their eyes because they have no eyelids. Suspended animation in that there is no involvement with external stimuli or forces.

Yeah they must just rest and take it easy, coz if they really went to sleep wed see them sink down onto the bottom of the fishtank.
