Babies immune systems are not fully developed at birth. Immunizing a baby stops the immune system from developing fully. As generations go on, our immune systems will become progressively weaker until we won't be able to live at all without drugs. We are killing ourselves with immunizations.
The human race survived for tens of thousands of years without immunizations. It is short-sighted to try and stop disease. It may be a tragedy when a child dies from a disease, but the human race is stronger for it.

I've thought a lot about this one, too.
I think part of the problem is that women of our generation have a tendency to think we invented pregnancy, childbirth and child-rearing. Instead of recognizing that past generations may have known what they were talking about, we have to try to discredit everything and start from scratch.
It's also probably because we don't remember things like polio, which has become practically nonexistant because of vaccinations! Of course, now things like whooping cough are making a comeback because parents are being irresponsible and not vaccinating their children. Scary thought.
We scare too easily too. Instead of relying on practical wisdom and everyday common sense, we see one internet story about something and everyone has a holy hemorrage about it for a year.
And about the autism thing: I think it's because parents want an answer to "why" so badly that they lose sight of the science behind things. Of course it's going to seem like vaccinations cause autism...nearly all babies get vaccinated!
It's too bad, because children are still going to be autistic without getting vaccinations and on top of that, they'll be at risk for deadly childhood diseases.

Our son HAS autism- and he didn't get it from his shots. He was late to get his shots- over a year before we started because his regular ped. had an anurism and was out- small town- no other place to take him. My husbands brother has autism as well- Aspergers. Likewise, he was showing signs of autism when he was a young baby- not making eye contact, he never babbled, he never had the pincer grasp down-there is a list of things.
It is a parent's right to get their child shots. Personally, I would rather get our children shots than for them to get the horrible diseases that could take my child away forever. There are far worse things than autism- far worse.
I get tired of hearing about the autism link because it is not proven. I think there is something in the environment that we have not yet discovered. Likewise- cases of autism are on the rise because things like Aspergers and other forms of PDD are in the catagory now too- and they never used to be.
So...I do get offended when someone attacks me for having our children vaccinated. These diseases are not dead- they are out there.
I choose to ignore it. I have done the research and continue to do so. How someone chooses to raise their children is their choice, not mine. I will respect their opinion.

There is nothing wrong with getting your child immunized. Like you, I protected my children from those terrible diseases & made sure my children were up to date with their shots also. Why would any parent want to put their child in harm's way by not getting them immunized? People need to get educated about getting babies their shots. Too many people listen to second hand gossip about such things when they need to take their fears to their doctor & learn that the shots are very necessary. I'm with you all the way!!! :)

People are very skeptic when it comes to children's vacc. It is better for you AND your child to receive there shots because they can get real sick or even die without them. However, there are risks even with the shots, but this is just a chance a (real) parent has to take. Our children need these shots to be happy, healthy, human biengs.
FYI...I did ask my child nutritionist who also gives the shots, what the deal was with parents not wanting to vacc. their children and she said out of a whole 30+yrs of her working at her facility has yet to have heard of or experienced a death from getting the shots. So PARENTS, get your children vaccinated, it is VERY IMPORTANT!!!

theres nothing wrong with it. its more harmful for them NOT to get immunized then for them to get immunized. the autism scare is because autism is commonly diagnosed around the age that certain shots are given. most schools wont accept chidren without proper shot records and neither will day care centers.

Ive made sure to immunize my baby - I dont trust all those other people out there who dont immunize their kids - with all the immigrants coming in to the country and with all the airline travel worldwide to countries that dont have any health care programs....

If you are talking about the MMR/autism debate that that theory has been discredited.
People forget how childhood diseases can kill. Even things like measles can kill. I had my children immunised against everything available and think it's great knowing that they will not die of a childhood disease.

there's nothing wrong with it!! my mom made sure to immunize my bros and i when we were babies. ur only protecting them from disease whereas the moms who don't immunize their babies will cause them to suffer from chicken pox or another disease in the future.
