With only 15 min´s Ready ? Go , Set your alarm clock to go off in 15 min´s time. All dirty clothes in a pile next to the bedroom door , along with any other thing´s that do not belong, you will take these thing´s to their rightful places when you finish. All clean clothes to the closet , hang them up or fold them don´t forget the shoes from under the bed. Stop. If you think you would rather carry on , then do the same again , another 15 min´s . You don´t have to do all in one day , little by little , 15 min´s here and there , will soon have your room tidy. Just remember when ever you you finish for the day , always reward yourself, Come here ask or answer a few Q , anything , but you must reward yourself. After all you don´t want to be stuck indoors every day trying to clean your room. Especially when the sun is shining outside. DO YOU ?

To start with, only have in the room what you use and need. Ornaments just gather dust. If you must have photos, then put them in a multi frame on the wall or something. The next stage is storage. Everything must have its own storage space so that you always put things back in the same box or basket or cupboard it came out of. This makes it easy even for lazy-brains as it becomes an automatic function rather than something you have to think about. Finally, only use what you need and then put it back again. When it comes to cleaning it, there shouldn't be anything lying around. In truth, the less you have, the less you need to worry about.

Ha, ha, ha!!

This is really apt!!

Last Sunday I tidied up my youngest son's bedroom coz you couldn't see the floor for all the stuff that had been dumped there!

He asked me if I would help him tidy it up. Well last Sunday, if you remember - the weather was APPALLING!! So whilst he was playing on his PS3 downstairs, I snook upstairs and tidied his room for him!

He was delighted with the result (as was I !!).

Anyway, from last Sunday 'til today, it's still as pristine as when I tidied it. The secret is to keep on top of it everyday. To his credit he's worked really hard to keep it tidy and he has spent a lot more time up there doing his homework, chilling out etc.

He even said to me, 'I've worked it out that if I do a little bit everyday, it will stay nice'.

Hope this helps!!

If i didn't know better i would think that this was one of my sons - the one still at home ! Well - i can dream! My eldest son and my daughter now have their own homes and have become neatnics, because i am not there to clean up after them. I am hoping that when son number two goes in September that he will turn over a new leaf also. But for any parents reading this - the true answer to this question must be - throw your kids out!!! You make the mess - you clean it.

Minimalise the room, get rid of things that dont harbour clutter!!
Our living room is the only room in the house that always looks relatively tidy, due to this fact i'm sure??

as soon as you do something wrong with your room,, undo it. So if like you unhung a tshirt, hang it up again immediately. If you moved your lamp to the floor, as soon as you don't need it on the floor anymore put it back up wher it's supposed to go. OKay? Another example is if you undid you bed do it again immediatley. So clean up after your mess right after you do it and don't ever say you'll do it later because that is what you will say about everything and that is how people get their rooms messy. Good clean room to you.

If you have a desk in your room keep a garbage can with a bag in it to throw things like pop cans, food wrappers, etc into. Get a hamper to throw clothes in when getting undressed so they don't end up on the floor. With just those two little things it is quite easy to keep clean. Also, have an organizer on your desk or dresser to keep papers in so they don't accumulate and fall on the floor.

Organize. Most messes come from lack of places to put things and poor organization. Buy stacking containers for your closet, get rid of things you haven't worn in a year and items that no longer interest you. Clean it once, find a logical place to put everything than always put everything away as soon as you are done, no matter how late it is nor how late you are running.

In my case, it would be "get rid of my husband". Since he retired I seem to spend all my life tidying up after him (worse than the kids!)

if someone is approaching your door quickly drag out the vacuum and the dust cloth. spray furniture polish in the air (get the scent out there) and fluff your hair up. if time permits, spray cleanser in the bathroom sink/tub.

make it look like you were about to tackle the mess and viola' no one notices the mess.

hope this helps. ;)
