Don't they have someone working with you? A trainer? I work for Mc donald's and we always give someone at least 3-4 days training on the registers. Ours are confusing too because of all the sandwiches, desserts, special items. I have been there since Oct and even I get confused sometimes because they change buttons. Talk to your supervisor and ask them to have someone explain things to you and work with you. Ask them if they have a printout of the register keys so you can study it and become familiar with it. If you don't ask for help it is easy to become frustrated and quit.

I worked at a Tim Horton's before. (I quit because I HATED it.) Our registers weren't like that.. I don't know. Ask someone who has been there a long time to help you out when it isn't busy. Good luck!

You cannot expect to learn everything in just a few days. Not many people can do that. Even your employer knows it might take you a week or two before you can manage your job properly. So just be patient.

If other people can do their job, you should not have any problems.

Working fast food is hard. That's why most fast food restaurants require a college degree.
