Grissom - (William Peterson) because he is sexy...
he always has been - hello, Reese Witherspoon's father in Fear...
he delivers his lines better, and is more believable.(Horatio's character just seems to contrived.)
and William Peterson is way more talented - he is one of CSI's producers, and just starred in the play "Dublin Carol"

he was one of Oliver Stone's picks for Platoon, but he turned it down to stay close to his family.

Definetely Gil Grissom because he is the smart one. Horatio is dumb I mean his sarcastic humor is dry especially when he takes off his sunglasses. And Horatio isn't that much in the crime lab or an investigator as the show is called but sometimes you can see Gil Grissom doing actual research and work in the lab with his co-workers.

Grissom, first of all, he's not a hideous firecrotch like Cane... and secondly, he's more believable
