Some people just like to hear the sound of their voice. And, with that, other people hear it too. They want to seem like are 'cool', even though they aren't.
Adding in cuss words to what you are saying won't always make sense, and that is when I think they have gone too far.

Cussing is the language of people who don't really have much of interest to say, so they add lots of cussing in to make a full sentence. I hate to be mean, but if you listen to the type of people who cuss all the time, they spend half their time complaining. It's because they can't think of anything else to talk about unless they are pulling something down or damning it. Deep thinkers cuss very rarely, so when they do it has great impact and is usually funny.

Oh, wow, this is so complicated! First, the "authorities" have no clue; they will claim it is used by uneducated persons, or by those who have nothing important to say, or by "coarse" persons, or by those trying to control the situation that the cursers feel is beyond their control. So many people of high education curse. They are not uneducated and they do have something serious to say. A lot of them are highly civilized and not coarse. This leaves those who feel that the situation is beyond their control. I would say that this is it much of the time; that, and trying to impress their peers that they are "cool". I would say that if all women would tell the men in their lives (sons, boy friends, husbands, fathers...) that cursing is not cool and that they don't like it and would really appreciate it that they don't curse, it would just about disappear.
The thing wrong with this idea is that the worst cursers I have ever heard were women!

Some people curse, just because they are mad with a certain situation or issue and they are mad like crazy with it. Certain people just start cursing for one problem, and then they form it as a bad habit over time. Certain other people just curse, just to be funny at times. Some people think it is funny to hear curing, depending on a situation and location of it. People don't always curse in madness, and that is why cursing can be funny.
You are right, cursing can get annoying. I usually am not into cursing, but I've experienced cursing in many ways. it is just the way one person is, using language. Hope I helped.

I hate it when people cuss too. I remember reading somewhere this little quote: Cussing is an excuse to make immaturity audible. I totally believed it.

Well, I only curse out loud when a car at work removes a skin sample from my body.
But for the most part, it shows an inability to communicate with any sophistication......such as a limited vocabulary.
Blame the parents.

I agree with you.
All I can come up with is that people who swear are people who for whatever reasons, like to hear their own voice.
You can easily double the amount of words that come out of your mouth by adding swear words.
I also think that people who do this a lot don't have much to say. They want to say things, so they just let out these meaningless words to bolster themselves.
Fortunately with me the effect is lost for the most part. It's their problem, not mine.

To me, it's a lack of education and manners. They were probably drunk because that, too, brings out the worst in people.

You're right. Cussing should be illegal. No one should be allowed to say anything that someone else might not like. Brilliant.
I know this might be asking too much, but I hope you recognize sarcasm.

Swearing can add emphasis to statements in ways no other speech can.
