For example, when Reagan died, I heard several Democrats calling him a terrorist and a moron when if he was alive, they would not have the courage to say that to his face. And then, they make fun of Jerry Falwell also, when he died. I didn't agree with Falwell on many things, but to make fun of a dead man is disrespectful. Then, Ann Coulter made fun of Lizzie Edwards because of her cancer. It is sickening that people degrade others like this because of different political ideologies when the person is probably a coward that attacks the weak or already dead.

Because it's often easier for people to attack "the other side" than to spend the time and effort to actually address the underlying issues.

And if you can get everyone focused on arguing about who is better, you don't have to put any effort into solving problems.

Because Almost all of the people in political office act like the rest of us are idiots and they only answer to their special interest groups that donate large amounts of money (that should be greatly limited) to them.

Anyone in the public eye wants the attention they are getting and they have to accept it or GET OUT of what is bringing them that attention. As far as Jerry Falwell (I agreed with him on some things and not on others) he was not timid about speaking his mind about ANYONE and he was VERY vocal about it. Just because he died does not forgive him for the sometimes erroneous things he said about people. I am not comparing him to anyone but let's use an extreme example. Did everyone forgive Hitler when he died......NO! Just because someone dies does not wipe away all the hurt. I don't feel good things toward someone who might have criticized or hurt me while they were alive, I just say good riddance they are gone and can do no more harm.

I agree with coragryph. It's always easier to tear down than to build up. It happens from both sides. I hope one day all can work together like the country used to to make life better for all. There will still be disagreements, but we can agree to disagree on some things, but remember that the good and the safety of the country must come first.

This is an example of the phenomenon in American politics known as "going negative".

Why go negative? Simply because: it works...at least in the short term. This is the unfortunate reality we are faced with.

Any politician who is in a close campaign has a decision to make, and that is not IF to 'go negative' but rather WHEN

they do no longer. And the main reason is that the concept of your question is defective. there's a extensive spectrum of what conservatives have faith, merely as there's a extensive spectrum of what liberals have faith. diverse human beings have faith extremely some issues. i could by no skill assume that anybody (or maybe maximum folk) think of ways that I do. anybody thinks in a diverse way. My mom is a liberal, my Dad is a conservative, and that they have got been fortunately married for forty-one years. I grew as much as be a reasonable conservative, my sister grew as much as be a liberal. She is my appropriate pal. I married an extremely conservative guy, she married an extremely liberal guy. They love one yet another like brothers. anybody is entitled to their very own evaluations. Our us of a became in step with that effortless concept. and that i think of it may be uninteresting if anybody concept the comparable way. The trick is to comprehend anybody and to be waiting to talk issues with civility. merely as a results of fact we disagree approximately some thing does not immediately propose that i'm exact and additionally you're incorrect (or vise versa). and that's some thing that the two liberals and conservatives ought to artwork on recuperating.

Bill Maher. SNL.

You are correct. These are not joking matters.

Reagan did nothing to incite any sort of broad criticism upon his death.

Falwell was as entitled to his beliefs as those who spoke out against him when he passed. The man devoted his life to standing up for what he believed and going against the mainstream media. Few of us have that sort of gall. He was both brave and forthright.
