There's too many! I'd have to go old school and say it's a tie between Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd and Queen.
When it comes to newer bands... Avenged Sevenfold in the mainstream scene and Dark Tranquillity for the more "underground" metal scene (although DT are pretty successful within the scene).
