One night, after closing, I was at a steakhouse owned by a couple of Greeks. They asked me if I would like some Greek food, and I said yes. They served me two huge deep-fat fried meatballs. They were terrific! They served me another one, and, while, I was eating it, I said, "This is great! What is it?" They replied, "Cow eyeballs." Startled, I stopped eating for a moment, then I realized that I had already eaten two and a half of them, and they were very, very good. After I ate the second half, I ate one more and went home.

Will eat pretty much anything, have tried all the usual "exotics" like alligator, boar, kangaroo, squid, etc; but much as I love rollmops I just cannot get my head around jellied eels... tried 'em once and didn't realise the crunchy bit in the middle wasn't for eating... not a fun experience!

It was in The Far East somewhere, probably Thailand or The Phillipines.....
Fried chicken's feet, you but the whole thing in your mouth, bite off all the skin and throw the bones away - yack.
Either that or deep fried insects, oh or swallows spit soup, ooooo I feel sick now remembering it yack yack.
On a better note, in recent years I have had bear (Finland) and whale (Norway), both of which I enjoyed.

In Yugoslavia a family invited us to join them for lunch - chunks of bread dipped into the shells of freshly-caught sea urchins.
In Hong Kong - crispy fried chicken tendons.

When I went to Kefalonia ten years ago I went snorkelling with some Italians I met. We ate live clam eggs which we found as we were snorkelling. It was the most repulsive thing ever. Even more than swallowing....

balut - from the philippines. you get to eat the chick inside (bick, body, legs)..best not eaten in daylight
anything that moves - china. including monkey brains eaten from its head (monkey is placed in the center of a table with its top head chopped off)
each country has cuisine that's considered exotic by anyone who's not a native in the locale
