so, i bought some of this from the pet store. It's in the fish section. It's kinda white and orange rock. It think it's a mix of limestone and sandstone - but I'm not sure. Anyway- could this cloud my tank? I remember when I got it I rinsed it well but it seemed sort of "powdery". Just wondering if it's ok for tank use.

No, I have the same stuff. As long as you rinse it before it goes in the tank, it is fine. It is just sandstone that is treated to be white and the natural reddish color. As with everything else, there is more of a color differential when it is wet, the water makes it look a lot nicer.

was it really cheap?
you might want to put it in a container of water before you put it in your tank to see if it clouds up.
but if it was from the fish section its probably ok

We used it in our tank with no problems. Our pleco loved to hide behind it. It's really pretty when it's wet.
